UBMD Internal Medicine is one of 18 medical practices in the UBMD Physicians’ Group. Our physicians are internists first, certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine to treat adult patients. Our specialists are certified in the primary sub-specialties associated with Internal Medicine, specifically:

CERTIFIED MEDICAL CODER

Full Time Certified Coder needed for large primary care and specialty practice to specifically analyze and accurately code diagnostic, procedural and/or surgical information that determines Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance payments. Responsibilities include and not limited to performing ICD9/10, CPT and HCPCS coding for reimbursement, providing accurate coding for charges submitted by providers, and reviewing records to ensure that all components such as patient/record identification, signatures and dates are present. Will also accurately analyze and consistently follow up on unpaid claims utilizing monthly aging reports, as well as work queues, and file appeals when appropriate to obtain maximum reimbursement. H.S. diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s degree preferred. CCS, CCS-P or CPC certification required. Medical billing and insurance follow-up knowledge is required

DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Full time Director of Human Resources (DHR) to oversee all HR operations of a primary care/multi-specialty health care practice. The DHR will be responsible for setting, enforcing and evaluating legally compliant HR policies, procedures and best practices, as well as identifying and implementing long-range talent management goals. Will provide oversight of all HR activities including, but not limited to, talent management, benefits administration, compliance, policies, compensation, leave management and employee relations. Will provide supervision, leadership and guidance to the HR team. The DHR will develop and implement personnel policies and procedures, and prepare/maintain the employee handbook. Responsible for overseeing the provider onboarding process, including but not limited to, ensuring that payer credentialing, hospital privileging, immigration matters, contracts and other resources are ready prior to hire date. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred with 5 years’ human resources experience or Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field with 8 years’ human resources experience or any appropriate combination of education and experience. PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred. Supervision/management experience required. Experience in talent management, benefits administration, compensation and leave management preferred. Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills required. Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills, as well as analytical and problem-solving skills essential. Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Experience in health care strongly preferred.

LPN - OUTPATIENT CLINIC

Full time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) needed to float to various outpatient clinics in Buffalo and Williamsville. Must demonstrate initiative, have ability to multi-task and possess excellent clinical skills.  Must be a graduate of an accredited LPN program with current NYS LPN license. Minimum 2 years outpatient experience preferred. EMR experience required. Prior Authorization experience helpful.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Full Time Medical Assistant needed for Primary Care / Specialty clinic in Williamsville. Will perform a variety of office workflows and clinic procedures including but not limited to rooming patients, taking vitals and documentation in the EMR. Medical Assistant training required; Medical Assistant Certification preferred. Minimum two years’ experience working with patients, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting. Strong organizational and communication skills required. Must be able to mult-task effectively and efficiently. Must be able to work as part of a team and independently, as needed. Above-average keyboarding skills preferred. EMR experience required.

MEDICAL RECORDS CLERK

Full Time Medical Records Clerk (MRC) needed for primary care and specialty outpatient clinics. Position will be located in Williamsville. MRC will maintain scanning and filing of documents in an efficient manner, respond to fax requests, ensure patient records are sent to requested appropriate location(s) and chart maintenance. High school or equivalent required. Minimum of one year experience in medical records preferred. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail required

PART TIME FRONT DESK COORDINATOR

Part time Front Desk Coordinator at our Conventus Clinic located on the Medical Campus in Downtown Buffalo. Duties include and are not limited to greeting patients, check in/out, verify insurances, scheduling appointments, daily copay reports/collect copays, phone calls, general customer service. Ideal candidate must have excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. 2-3 years experience in medical office required, EMR and healthenet experience required, general office skills (faxing, copying, etc.) required

NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT-PRIMARY CARE (BUFFALO)

FT Primary Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (APP) needed for downtown Conventus primary care clinic.  Responsibilities include evaluation and management of care for pediatric through geriatric aged patients relating to overall wellness, diseases, chronic conditions, urgent care, etc.   Maintains accurate and complete patient records in EMR system, handles urgent calls and tasks for physicians who are unavailable, communicates effectively/accurately with patients, families and physicians, collaborates with physician on designing and implementing appropriate plan of care for the patient or chooses appropriate treatment based on pre-determined protocols and other clinical duties as assigned.  Must be a graduate of an accredited NP/PA program, have current NYS license and BE/BC. Primary Care/Family Medicine experience preferred. Must have ability to work independently, be flexible, demonstrate judgment and initiative while operating during demanding situations.

NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT- SLEEP

Full time Primary Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (APP) needed to support Sleep / Pulmonary team.  Responsibilities include evaluation and management of care for patients.  Intake of new patients, maintains accurate and complete patient records in EMR system, communicates effectively/accurately with patients, families and physicians, collaborates with physician on designing and implementing appropriate plan of care for the patient or chooses appropriate treatment based on pre-determined protocols and other clinical duties as assigned.  Must be a graduate of an accredited NP/PA program, have current NYS license and BE/BC. Previous sleep or pulmonary experience a plus!

HOSPITALIST

Full time NP/PA to work nights (7p-7a) on busy hospitalist service at Buffalo General Medical Center. Monthly shift requirements; self-scheduling is an option. Must be a graduate of an accredited NP/PA program, have current NYS license. Must have ability to work independently, be flexible, demonstrate judgment and initiative while operating during demanding situations. Experience in hospital setting preferred.
