UBMD Internal Medicine is one of 18 medical practices in the UBMD Physicians’ Group.  Our physicians are internists first, certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine to treat adult patients.  Our specialists are certified in the primary sub-specialties associated with Internal Medicine, specifically:

RN SUPERVISOR - TRIAGE (Williamsville)
Full Time RN Supervisor for Triage department for high-volume primary care and specialty outpatient clinic.  Principal responsibilities include managing prescription refill requests, obtaining medication prior approvals from insurance companies, sick call and walk-in triage.  Will also work with physicians on communicating lab results and treatment plans.  Requires good communication skills and ability to multi-task in a busy environment.  Must be currently licensed in NYS as a Registered Nurse.  EMR experience preferred.  Supervisory experience required.  Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in outpatient care setting preferred.
FRONT DESK COORDINATOR (Buffalo)
Full time Front Desk Coordinator for downtown Buffalo location.  Responsible for checking in/out patients, verifying insurance/demographics, collecting co-pays.  Experience with prior authorizations for specialty testing is helpful.  Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:45 am-4:45 pm with every OTHER Thursday hours being 11:30 am-7:30 pm.  Knowledge of EMR system required.  One year experience in medical field required.  Excellent communication and customer services skills required.
SCHEDULING COORDINATOR (Williamsville)
Full time Scheduling Coordinator for busy primary care and specialty outpatient clinic.  Responsible for maintaining vacation, service and time off schedules for all providers, as well as freezing, blocking, editing and building schedules as necessary.  Calls patients to reschedule appointments as needed and follows clinic cancellation process to ensure forms are approved.  Creates coverage schedules for staff to follow when providers are out of the office.  Completes various data reports to assist operations team.  Monitors patient experience line and brings concerns to operations team as needed.  Minimum of 2 years' experience in patient scheduling, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting. Excellent communication and attention to detail skills required.
RN CARDIOLOGY (Williamsville)
Full-time RN for Cardiology practice in fast-paced specialty clinic to work as part of the Patient Care Team under the general supervision of a physician by taking an active role in performing cardiac stress testing and monitoring patient during/after the procedure.  Responsible for coordinating information with providers and providing overall quality patient-centered care.  Collaborate with multiple providers, staff and community partners regarding patient needs, outcomes, condition, etc.  Will act as back up for the Device Nurse as needed or requested.  Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in NYS.  Minimum of 2-3 years' experience as Cardiology RN with specific training and expertise in performing cardiac stress testing and coumadin management.  BLS and ACLS required.  Excellent customer service and communication skills, including experience and comfort level in providing and facilitating group presentations.  Critical thinking skills required with ability to evaluate and respond effectively and efficiently.
COMPLIANCE ADMINISTRATOR
UBMD Internal Medicine is seeking a full-time Compliance Administrator (CA) to manage the compliance efforts of the medical practice.  The CA will be responsible for reviewing medical records for quality and comprehensive coding to ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, HCPCS and HCC standards as well as payer regulations.  Will conduct internal compliance audits and reviews and respond to incidents of suspected compliance violations.  The CA will provide training and education to healthcare professionals on billing and coding.  CPC and/or CCS-P required.  Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field preferred.  Excellent communication skills required, as well as strong attention-to-detail.  Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ICD-9&10, CPT-4 and HCC coding and billing, as well as Medicaid, Medicare and third party payers.  Experience in education and training of healthcare professionals required.  Must possess valid NYS driver’s license that meets company driving standards.
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT MANAGER
UBMD Internal Medicine is seeking a full-time Quality Improvement Manager (QIM) to develop, implement, coordinate and monitor quality improvement processes and policies/procedures.  The QIM will be responsible for meeting and achieving the quality metrics and goals through provider communication and education on metrics and internal quality reports received and generated in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  Will ensure maximization of quality and risk-share incentives available from hospital partners, as well as tracking performance amongst providers.  Will serve as the liaison between hospital partners, medical practice and community resources.  The QIM will conduct research for other added-value incentive dollars and resources, as well as identify and address concerns that may impact receipt of incentive dollars.  Licensed NYS Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred.  Minimum of Licensed NYS Registered Nurse required.  Minimum of 5-7 years of hospital-based clinical experience, as well as outpatient experience.  Experience in quality improvement and/or utilization review required.  Auditing experience required.  Excellent communication skills required, as well as creative and persistent problem-solving skills.  Must possess valid NYS driver’s license that meets company driving standards.

NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (Geriatric Division)

Full-time NP/PA for growing Geriatric division.  Will be responsible for providing daily management and coordination of post-acute care and long-term care for patients at skilled nursing facility in Lancaster.  Will be responsible to be part of rotating call schedule.  Current NYS license required.  Minimum of 2 years experience, preferably with geriatric patients and/or post-acute care setting.  Must have ability to work independently, be flexible, demonstrate judgment and initiative while operating during demanding situations.
MEDICAL ASSISTANT (Buffalo)
Minimum 2 years' clinical experience required.  Must possess excellent clinical and computer skills.  Experience with PFT's for Buffalo specialty clinic location preferred.  Experience in spirometries and A1C's preferred.  Minimum 2 years' experience working as a medical assistant, preferably in an outpatient setting.
NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (Infectious Diseases Division)
Full time NP/PA for ID division based at Buffalo General Medical Center.  Participates in assessment and management of patient care as it relates to ID.  Will primarily see patients on the ID inpatient consult service with some outpatient care as required.  Completes patient records in EMR; handles urgent calls and tasks for physicians who are unavailable; communicates with patients, families and physicians; collaborates with physician on designing and implementing appropriate plan of care for the patient or chooses appropriate treatment based on predetermined protocols; other clinical duties as assigned.  Must be a graduate of an accredited NP/PA program and have a current NYS license.  ID experience preferred.  EMR experience required.  Ability to work independently, be flexible, demonstrate judgment and initiative while operating during demanding situations.
