UBMD Internal Medicine is one of 18 medical practices in the UBMD Physicians’ Group.  Our physicians are internists first, certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine to treat adult patients.  Our specialists are certified in the primary sub-specialties associated with Internal Medicine, specifically:

REGISTERED NURSE - TRIAGE (Williamsville)
Full time Registered Nurse for triage department for high-volume primary care and specialty outpatient clinic in Williamsville.  Principal responsibilities include managing prescription refill requests, obtaining medication prior approvals, sick call and walk-in triage.  Will also work with physicians on communicating lab results and treatment plans.  Requires excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task in a busy environment.  Must be currently licensed in NYS as a Registered Nurse.  EMR experience preferred.  Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in triage preferred.
RECONCILIATION COORDINATOR (Buffalo)
Full time Reconciliation Coordinator for growing physician practice.  Will be responsible for ensuring reconciliation of daily charges for all patient services within ECMC and BGMC in order to capture and maximize billing and revenue.  Works with providers, clinicians, billing and administrative staff to review charge capture and reconciliation processes and to ensure that all services, tests, procedures are captured and tracked in the EMR and coded/billed properly.  Holds providers accountable for billing and note completion and educates them on issues/concerns, as well as provides education on compliance issues.  Associate's degree required, Bachelor's preferred.  CPC certification preferred.  Minimum of 4-5 years in billing or coding required.  Reconciliation experience required, preferably in a health care setting.  Excellent communication and computer skills, as well as knowledge of policies, procedures and government regulations regarding physician billing processes.  Valid NYS driver's license that meets company driving standards required.

NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (Williamsville)

COMPLIANCE ADMINISTRATOR (Buffalo)
Full time Compliance Administrator will be responsible for reviewing medical records for quality and comprehensive coding to ensure compliance, conducting internal audits and responding to suspected violations.  Will also provide training/education to healthcare professionals on billing/coding.  CPC and/or CCS-P required.  Bachelor's degree in health care related field preferred.  Experience in ICD 9&10, CPT-4 and HCC coding/billing, as well as experience in training required.  Valid NYS driver's license that meets company driving standards required.
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT MANAGER
UBMD Internal Medicine is seeking a full-time Quality Improvement Manager (QIM) to develop, implement, coordinate and monitor quality improvement processes and policies/procedures.  The QIM will be responsible for meeting and achieving the quality metrics and goals through provider communication and education on metrics and internal quality reports received and generated in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  Will ensure maximization of quality and risk-share incentives available from hospital partners, as well as tracking performance amongst providers.  Will serve as the liaison between hospital partners, medical practice and community resources.  The QIM will conduct research for other added-value incentive dollars and resources, as well as identify and address concerns that may impact receipt of incentive dollars.  Licensed NYS Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred.  Minimum of Licensed NYS Registered Nurse required.  Minimum of 5-7 years of hospital-based clinical experience, as well as outpatient experience.  Experience in quality improvement and/or utilization review required.  Auditing experience required.  Excellent communication skills required, as well as creative and persistent problem-solving skills.  Must possess valid NYS driver’s license that meets company driving standards.
MEDICAL ASSISTANT (Buffalo)
Full-time Medical Assistant needed for growing physician practice at Conventus building downtown.  Minimum 2 years' clinical experience required.  Must possess excellent clinical and computer skills.  Experience with PFT's is preferred.  Minimum 2 years' experience working as a medical assistant, preferably in an outpatient setting.
NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (Infectious Diseases Division)
Full time NP/PA for ID division based at Buffalo General Medical Center.  Participates in assessment and management of patient care as it relates to ID.  Will primarily see patients on the ID inpatient consult service with some outpatient care as required.  Completes patient records in EMR; handles urgent calls and tasks for physicians who are unavailable; communicates with patients, families and physicians; collaborates with physician on designing and implementing appropriate plan of care for the patient or chooses appropriate treatment based on predetermined protocols; other clinical duties as assigned.  Must be a graduate of an accredited NP/PA program and have a current NYS license.  ID experience preferred.  EMR experience required.  Ability to work independently, be flexible, demonstrate judgment and initiative while operating during demanding situations.
