UBMD Internal Medicine is one of 18 medical practices in the UBMD Physicians’ Group.  Our physicians are internists first, certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine to treat adult patients.  Our specialists are certified in the primary sub-specialties associated with Internal Medicine, specifically:

PATIENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE - MEDICAL ASSISTANT (Williamsville)
Full time Patient Services Representative needed for busy Williamsville primary care and specialty clinic.  Will answer incoming calls, distribute calls to appropriate clinic(s) or handle independently.  Will act as a resource for all providers' schedules.  Must have excellent customer service and communication skills and act professional and courteous at all times.  Minimum 2-3 years' customer service experience, preferably in a call center and/or health care setting preferred.  Experience as a medical assistant or other clinical experience (i.e. pharmacy tech, EMT) will be given priority.

SPECIALTY PRIOR AUTHORIZATION COORDINATOR (LPN) - (Williamsville)
Full-time LPN/Specialty Prior Authorization Coordinator for busy specialty clinic in Williamsville.  Will be responsible for completing requests for medication prior auths for pulmonary, GI, rheumatology and cardiology.  Will have direct provider interaction and work as a liaison between providers and insurance companies.  Will coordinate and communicate with pharmacies and patients.  Valid NYS LPN license required.  Experience in prior auths preferred.  Excellent communication and documentation skills required.
OFFICE COORDINATOR (Nephrology Clinic @ ECMC)
FT Office Coordinator needed for busy Nephrology clinic at ECMC.  Responsibilities include full oversight, operation, function and maintenance of the front office (check in/out, prior authorizations, medical records), supervision of staff, directing/coordinating office services as well as developing and supervising programs for the maximum utilization of services and equipment.  Will ensure data entry of patient information is accurate for effective and efficient billing of services.  AAS degree required; Bachelor's preferred.  Two to three years of office management required, preferably in a health care setting.  Excellent organizational and communication skills required, as well as attention to detail.  Supervisor experience required.

NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (Gastroenterology - Buffalo)
Full time NP/PA to work in the Gastroenterology division with an exclusive focus on liver disease.  This is an opportunity to join a rapidly expanding clinical and research operation involved in all aspects of liver disease.  The position will entail multiple different types of encounters, including in-person clinical care for viral hepatitis and fatty liver disease.  In addition, the individual will be involved in telemedicine-based treatment for viral hepatitis as part of our state-wide telemedicine network.  There is an increasing opportunity to provide clinical care via telemedicine for viral hepatitis to individuals in substance use treatment programs as  well as to rural populations.  There are also opportunities to participate in clinical trials investigating novel treatments for fatty liver disease.  The individual may also participate in management and education as it relates to complex and rarer liver disease, in addition to acting as a resource for patients and community providers.  This individual will practice clinically in Buffalo for in-person appointments, primarily at Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, and will provide state-wide clinical care via telemedicine.  The applicant must be a graduate of an accredited NP/PA program and have a current NYS license.  GI experience as it relates to liver disease preferred.  Must have the ability to work independently, be flexible, demonstrate judgment and initiative while operating during demanding situations.
NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (Williamsville)
Full time NP or PA needed for busy primary care clinic in Williamsville.  Responsibilities include participating and assisting in assessment and management of patient care as it relates to diseases, chronic conditions, urgent care, etc.  Assists in improving workflows and efficiencies within clinic.  Maintains accurate and complete patient records in EMR system, as well as handles urgent calls and tasks for physicians who are unavailable.  Communicates effectively/accurately with patients, families and physicians; collaborates with physician on designing and implementing appropriate plan of care for the patient or chooses appropriate treatment based on predetermined protocols; other clinical duties as assigned.  Must be a graduate of an accredited NP/PA program and have current NYS license.  Primary care experience preferred.  Must have ability to work independently, be flexible, demonstrate judgment and initiative while operating during demanding situations.
