Gastroenterology is the medical specialty which studies and treats the digestive system and its disorders. UBMD Internal Medicine gastroenterologists are focused on the stomach, intestines and associated organs and performing colonoscopies and endoscopies. Hepatologists focus on the liver, gallbladder and pancreatic problems.

This sub-specialty focuses on how people’s thoughts and behavior affect their health. Behavioral medicine is concerned, for example, with drug abuse behaviors or coping with stress-anxiety, and utilizes behavioral therapy techniques such as biofeedback, relaxation training and hypnosis.
