UBMD Internal Medicine is one of 18 medical practices in the UBMD Physicians’ Group.  Our physicians are internists first, certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine to treat adult patients.  Our specialists are certified in the primary sub-specialties associated with Internal Medicine, specifically:

Our healthcare team includes Physician Assistants (PAs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs), Medical Assistants, Technicians and Echocardiographers, among others.

Our administrative staff includes medical billers, accountants, information technology personnel, administrative assistants, human resource personnel, medical student/housestaff coordinators for the residency program, file clerks, clerical staff, compliance, credentialing, customer support, receptionists, office managers, business developers, operations analysts, marketing staff, and others.

Hospitalists
UBMD Internal Medicine is the clinical practice plan affiliated with the University at Buffalo’s Department of Medicine.  UB’s Department of Medicine seeks highly motivated and experienced board-certified or board-eligible internists interested in academic careers combining inpatient care with teaching.  The successful hospitalist will be appointed at the rank of clinical assistant/associate professor.  The hospitalist will be part of a patient-centered team dedicated to providing compassionate care to a diverse vulnerable population while teaching and supervising residents and students.  For more information and to apply, visit the Department of Medicine's Employment Opportunities page.  This position is for MDs and all applications must be made via the UB Employment Opportunities page only.

 

Hospitalist APP (Nights) – Buffalo General Medical Center

Full time NP/PA to work nights on busy hospitalist service at Buffalo General Medical Center.  Expected schedule is 4 days on and 4 days off.   Must be a graduate of an accredited NP/PA program, have current NYS license.  Must have ability to work independently, be flexible, demonstrate judgment and initiative while operating during demanding situations.

 
Front Desk Coordinator – Dermatology

UBMD Dermatology is seeking one full-time Front Desk Coordinator for our Williamsville location.  Responsible for checking in/out patients, verifying insurance/demographics, collecting co-payments.  Knowledge of EMR system required.  One year experience in medical field required and must have strong customer service skills.  

 
Front Desk Coordinator – (Adult Medicine/Pediatric Clinic) Linwood

UBMD Internal Medicine is seeking full-time Front Desk Coordinator for our downtown Buffalo location.  Responsible for checking in/out patients, verifying insurance/demographics, collecting co-payments.  Knowledge of EMR system required.  One year experience in medical field required and must have strong customer service skills.

 
 LPN – Linwood

Full-time LPN for fast-paced, outpatient clinic in Buffalo.  Must demonstrate initiative and ability to multitask.  Excellent clinical skills, heavy phones.  EMR experience required.  Experience in Pediatrics helpful.  Minimum 2 years clinic experience preferred.   

 

Medical Coders – Goodell

Two full-time positions located on Goodell Street in downtown Buffalo.  Reviews, analyzes and codes diagnostic, procedural and/or surgical information that determines Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance payments.  The primary function for this position is to perform ICD9 (and 10), CPT and HCPCS coding for reimbursement.  Two years of billing experience (physician billing preferred) required.  Two years of coding experience using ICD9M or equivalency required.

 
Medical Biller – Goodell

Full-time Medical Biller specializing in Collections.  Duties include but are not limited to follow up to collection queues, calling patients to get updates information/payment, verifying eligibility, correcting and reposting claims.  Strong customer service skills required.  Other qualifications include two or more years medical billing experience, medical billing degree preferred but not required, knowledge of CGM program and ICD-10 codes.  Must be detail oriented and able to work independently but also in a team based approach. 

 
Senior Administrative Assistant – Division of Cardiovascular Medicine

Full-time Senior Administrative Assistant for Division of Cardiovascular Medicine located at Buffalo General Medical Campus/CTRC.  This position will report to the Division Chief (DC).  Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: calendar maintenance, organizational policies and procedures, resolving administrative problems/inquiries and overall general support to providers within the Division.  Will assist with grant submissions, budgets and research related correspondence.  Will be involved with the coordination of functions within the Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship program.  Responsibilities also include travel planning for faculty business trips and coordination of potential faculty candidates.  Will regularly review and update provider information on Division and company websites to ensure all information is current.  Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred.  Prior administrative support experience in the educational, research and/or health care fields preferred.  Ability to work as a member of a team as well as autonomously.  Solid multitasking and organizational skills.  Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with experience and proficiency of computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.  Maintain strict confidentiality. 

 
Office Coordinator – Youngs Road

Full-time Office Coordinator (OC) for its Williamsville Primary Care/Specialty outpatient clinic.  The OC will be responsible for the operation, function and maintenance of the clinic including directing/coordinating office services as well as developing and supervising programs for the maximum utilization of services and equipment.  Will be responsible for oversight of the front desk staff including developing work schedules, disciplinary action, training and performance management.  The OC will be responsible for the front desk throughput, process and education, as well as patient scheduling/coordination of office consultations, follow up and/or appointments, etc.  Will be responsible for patient check in/out, as well as verifying insurance and demographics and collecting co-payments.  Will be responsible for reconciling co-payments at close of business.  The OC will assist in resolving patient complaints or other patient-related matters.  Will ensure data entry of patient information is accurate for effective and efficient billing of services.  AAS degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  2-3 years of office management required, preferably in a health care setting.  Excellent organizational and communication skills required, as well as attention to detail.  Supervisory experience required.

Full-time LPN Practice Facilitator to work with the PCMH team at the Youngs Road clinic.  Responsibilities include piloting changes in workflows and new approaches to patient care (pre-visit planning, care coordination, hospital follow up, discharge planning), working with care team on the quality improvement process including implementation of PDSA Cycles to improve clinical practice and patient care.  Will assist the medical practice in maximizing use of available health information technology resources in order to achieve improved patient outcomes and increased office efficiencies.  Will work with other staff within the practice to provide team-based care and collaborate with other health care professionals, community agencies, patients’ family members and others involved in a patient’s care.  Must support the Patient Centered Medical Home model of care, which is patient centered, physician-led and team-based.  Qualified candidates must have current NYS LPN license, experience in pre-visit planning/practice facilitation, discharge planning and care/service coordination are preferred.  2 -3 years experience working in an outpatient clinic or primary care practice also preferred.  Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills required.  Ability and willingness to travel locally as needed.  Must have valid NYS Drivers License.
