UBMD Internal Medicine is one of 18 medical practices in the UBMD Physicians’ Group.  Our physicians are internists first, certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine to treat adult patients.  Our specialists are certified in the primary sub-specialties associated with Internal Medicine, specifically:

Hospitalists
UBMD Internal Medicine is the clinical practice plan affiliated with the University at Buffalo’s Department of Medicine.  UB’s Department of Medicine seeks highly motivated and experienced board-certified or board-eligible internists interested in academic careers combining inpatient care with teaching.  The successful hospitalist will be appointed at the rank of clinical assistant/associate professor.  The hospitalist will be part of a patient-centered team dedicated to providing compassionate care to a diverse vulnerable population while teaching and supervising residents and students.  For more information and to apply, visit the Department of Medicine's Employment Opportunities page.  This position is for MDs and all applications must be made via the UB Employment Opportunities page only.

Coder
UBMD Internal Medicine is looking for a full-time Coder.   The Coder reviews, analyzes and codes diagnostic, procedural and/or surgical information that determines Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance payments.  The primary function for this position is to perform ICD9 (and 10), CPT and HCPCS coding for reimbursement.  Two years of billing experience (physician billing preferred).  Two years of coding experience using ICD9M or equivalency. 

Medical Assistants (MA)

UBMD Internal Medicine is seeking full-time Medical Assistants for fast-paced Dermatology clinic in Williamsville.  Minimum 1-3 years DERMATOLOGY experience preferred and 1-3 years MA experience required.  Must possess excellent clinical and computer skills.

LPN - Linwood Office

UBMD Internal Medicine is seeking a full-time LPN at our Adult Medicine and Pediatric clinic in Buffalo.  Must demonstrate ability to multi-task in a team environment. EMR experience required.  Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred.  Valid NYS LPN license. 

LPN - Youngs Road

UBMD Internal Medicine is seeking a full-time LPN for Triage at our Primary Care and Specialty clinic in Williamsville.  Must demonstrate ability to multitask in a team environment.  Triage and EMR experience required.  Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred.  Valid NYS LPN license. 

Office Coordinator

UBMD Dermatology seeking full-time Office Coordinator (OC) to provide day-to-day oversight of clinical operations and staffing at outpatient clinic site.  The OC will also be responsible for working the front desk and managing all required patient information and interactions.  The OC will be responsible for preparing provider schedules, managing daily operations, ensuring adequate staffing, managing patient interactions and various reporting requirements.  The OC will maintain inventory and equipment, as well as act as the first point of contact for patient issues/complaints.  The OC will ensure efficient check in/out of patients including verifications of patient demographics and insurance, as well as scheduling follow-up appointments and referral visits.  Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.  HS diploma with 7-10 years administrative/managerial experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.  Minimum of 2-4 years experience in office management/supervision of staff.  Must have excellent customer service, organization, multitasking and communication skills.  Medical terminology and EMR experience required.  

Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner (Dermatology)
UBMD Internal Medicine is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner for a busy Dermatology Clinic located in Williamsville. Responsibilities include participating and assisting in assessment and management of patient care; assist in improving workflow and efficiencies within clinics; maintain accurate and complete patient records in EMR system; handles urgent calls and tasks for physicians who are unavailable; communicates effectively/ accurately with patients, families and physicians; collaborates with physician on designing and implementing appropriate plan of  care for the patient or chooses appropriate treatment based on predetermined protocols; other clinical duties as assigned. Expected hours are M-F 8:30am-5pm.  Must be a graduate of an accredited NP/PA program, board certified and have current NYS license. Dermatology experience required. Must have ability to work independently, be flexible, demonstrate judgment and initiative while operating during demanding situations.

Registered Nurse (RN)
UBMD Internal Medicine is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for Cardiology practice in fast-paced clinic located in Williamsville.  RN will work as part of the Patient Care Team under the general supervision of a physician by taking an active role in performing cardiac stress testing and monitoring the patient during and after the procedure.  The RN will be responsible for coordinating information with providers and providing overall quality patient-centered care.  Will collaborate with multiple faculty, staff and community partners regarding patient needs, outcomes, condition, etc.  Will act as back up for the RN Device Nurse as needed or requested.  Must be a graduate from accredited School of Nursing with an active and unrestricted NYS license to practice as a RN, minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a RN in Cardiology, with specific training and expertise in performing cardiac stress testing required.  BLS and ACLS required, excellent communication and customer service skills required, including experience and comfort level in providing and facilitating group presentations.  Critical thinking skills required with ability to evaluate and respond effectively and efficiently.  

Medical Billers
UBMD Internal Medicine is seeking full-time medical billers to accurately analyze and process paper billing sheets and electronic billing into practice management system for timely processing of claims and revenue recognition for all submissions.  Review for appropriate ICD coding.  Verify/update and obtain patient demographic information for submission of claims.  Assist in recovery of self-pay patients.  Perform eligibility checking for all necessary claims.  Ability to navigate multiple hospital IST systems.  Process over-payments and refunds in efficient manner.  Perform extensive follow up, denials and collections of claims with multiple insurance carriers.  Maintain confidentiality of billing information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.  Medical billing experience required.  Strong knowledge of most primary insurance carrier processes.  EHR processing is preferred but not required.
